An eTwinning Christmas Adventure
Frit efter A Visit from St. Nicholas BY CLEMENT CLARKE MOORE
'Twas the seventh of December, when all through the school
Not a creature was stirring, not even a ghoul;
The chairs were placed on the tables with care,
In hopes that the holiday soon would be there;
The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of maths equations danced in their heads;
Mum on her mobile, and dad eating bread sticks,
Had just settled down for an evening of Netflix,
When out at the school there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the sofa to see what was the matter,
There at her desk the teacher did sit,
Joining Etwinning ’22… on her 32-bit.
Inclusive and innovative education narrations,
Was the focus to unite all Euro’ nations,
Day one started strong with keynote speakers,
Who tantalised and inspired the slightly tired teachers.
The glare from the screen alighting the face,
Gave the dark in the office and chill a chase,
Miles Madison unwrapped from policy to reality,
Stressing continuous reflection and actuality.
Dr. Naomi van Stapele eloquently unfolded,
The bond between teachers and the students they moulded.
Inclusive learning, a well-known friend,
A topic on which we a lot of time did spend.
Now INCLUSION, GAMIFICATION, PBL to increase motivation
On, MICHAL! On POPA! On, TZITZI and METSO!
What a decision to make! Oh which shall I take!
I will listen and learn, but first... I need cake!
As dry leaves that before the wild hurricane fly,
When they meet with an obstacle, mount to the sky,
So into our minds, the work-shops they flew,
With the sleigh full of joy, and enlightenment too.
And then… an inkling, I felt in my mind
The prancing and dancing of ideas intertwined.
As I turned on my camera, and pressed to unmute
I joined in the chatroom with the backdrop I found cute.
Now was our time, in groups we were sorted,
Via dialogue and discussion, our joint work was supported,
Trials and tribulations surrounding our aims,
Were tackled and grappled by consolidated brains.
Our eyes… how they twinkled! Our mood so cheery!
Cheeks were like roses, despite being weary!
Nikolaos kept us going, the conversation was flowing
To be honest it was all just slightly mind-blowing!
Alas, we arrived three days later…
After having listened to many a propagator,
After closing remarks and everyone is out of sight
I would like to finish with a: MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOODNIGHT!
